This is a reproduction of the original artwork Wm Conrad Bowen painted in his studio with watercolor on a 30”x18” stretched sheet of 140 lb textured cold pressed watercolor paper.

This is the forth of four images that Conrad has created of the Olsen Granary located near 9200 S 100 E, Paradise, Utah. This adventure started as a sketchbook drawing & watercolor painting on location in early August, 2019. As a result he’s generated four original pieces of art . They include: 1. A pen & ink drawing, 2. a small watercolor painting, 3. an oil painting on canvas, and 4. this larger watercolor painting — reproductions of each are available to view & purchase from this website.

In this fourth version, Conrad had fun in a larger format exploring a liberal color palette & values. Starting the painting laying down bright washes in the shadows on a stretch sheet of bright white textured watercolor paper with Alizarin Crimson, Cobalt Blue, Phthalo Blue & Prussian Blue was a pretty intense experience. Tinting the cloud cover with a touch of pink toward the end of the painting helped tie the whole thing together. What do you think!
