"Bickmore Granary"
This is a reproduction of the original artwork Wm Conrad Bowen painted on a 9"x12” 140 lb Strathmore Watercolor Cold Press Block.
From the street, you can see this old granary just a bit north & west of 9300 S 300 E, in Paradise, Utah! When Conrad was in high school, he worked for Fred Summers who leased Lee Bickmore's farm in the south east corner of town. Adjacent to this granary was a big old barn Conrad, Scott (Fred's youngest son) & Fred would fill from bottom to top with alfalfa hay bails every summer. The old barn stored about 7500 bails or 25-truckloads of hay through the winter; it's no longer there! The granary is in pretty sad shape these days, Conrad thought he'd paint it before it falls down & is gone, too!
