17”x11” Full-Color Fine Art Edition Printed on White 80 Lb Paper Cover Stock. This is a reproduction of the original artwork Wm Conrad Bowen painted with oils on a 7”x 5” gessoed-masonite board.

Connections: Lloyd was the son of Gideon & Mary Oldham Olsen and older brother of Frank and Marion Olsen. All three were successful, respected, old farmers in Paradise as Conrad was growing up. Each had nice homes, barns and farms in town. Not ‘til Conrad was older, did he realize that they were brothers. Lloyd was reserved, Frank was so-so and Marion was social and outgoing. He served as a church bishop and Cache County Commissioner multiple terms.

Lloyd’s mom died when he was young and his dad remarried Maude Price, mother of Frank and Marion. They raised nine children.

Lloyd’s first wife was Mary Alyce Dunn and she died in 1957, together they raised three children: John P, Dixie and Rosemary. Conrad remembers Lloyd’s second wife, Arlynn and and all three of Lloyd’s adult children.

Connection: Lloyd’s 2-story home, barn and outbuildings, thought now owned by Ken & Beverly Schiefer, are located on the main thoroughfare through Paradise at 200 W 8900 S — just west of the current post office building and across the street from Leland Summers’ old gas station, now a real estate office. Conrad shot some photo scrap with his cel phone camera in June, 2024 and completed this oil painting in his studio in July.

While painting — correlations, people, places, things and feelings flood Conrad’s mind. Hopefully, images Conrad and Paula create and share make some kind of a connection with you. Feel free to let them know what they are.
