17”x11” Full-Color Fine Art Edition Printed on White 80 Lb Paper Cover Stock
This is a reproduction of the original artwork Wm Conrad Bowen painted in a bound 5.25” x 3.5” Tumuarta Watercolor sketchpad he carries regularly in his cargo shorts pocket so he can start painting anywhere on the spot.
Conrad and Paula love to go to Creekside Park, just south & across the street from Bountiful High School's football field. This spot is on the walkway just south of the main pavilion. It was a Friday early evening & Conrad expected a ton of people to be at the park - it was nearly empty, except a single dad and his two young kids playing in the water feature and with the park toys. Their mid-age grandkids were with them and the grandkids and Paula headed for the park toys. Conrad looked around for a minute & set up his folding chair and table in this spot and started with a lite pencil sketch and painting right away. He only had an hour & a half to paint before they had to head back to their house to feed the kids. Conrad felt rushed, and the time was up and they had to leave before he was ready to go. He snapped some reference pics with his cel phone so he could finish this sketchbook watercolor at his studio at home. For a year now, Conrad's been getting up at 4:30 AM to paint in his studio and leave for the Bountiful Rec Center to exercise and play racquet ball at about 6:10 AM until 8:00 AM. He finished this painting early Tuesday morning before he left for the gym.
