17”x11” Pen & Ink Fine Art Edition Printed on White 80 Lb Paper Cover Stock

This is a reproduction of line art Wm Conrad Bowen rendered with a black fine-point pen on white Strathmore paper.

In the mid-2010s, Conrad’s advertising & design business, BowenPlus Associates, pitched a California company that marketed fresh corn-on-the-cob products to grocery store retailers. The pitch included product packaging, print advertising, product photos for circulars, B&W product slick sheets & outdoor billboard advertising. BowenPlus developed & presented to the corporate executives – budgets, concepts, strategies & samples of what the campaign would entail. Conrad illustrated these two fresh corn cobs to demonstrate what artwork might look like for product newspaper insertions which was an important part of the program. Most, if not all of the “comp art” exists somewhere in Conrad’s files yet to be rediscovered to be appreciated. This image was filed as fine art and survives today to be enjoyed as such.
